SAMBA, Mar 7: The residents of Purmandal and adjoining areas today staged a protest demonstration against power shutdown in the area for last three days.
Scores of people from village Purmandal and its adjoining areas gathered at Bus Stand Purmandal under the leadership of Irshad Begum, BDC, Chairperson, Block Purmandal and raised slogans against the failure of district administration Samba to restore power supply in the area. They alleged that on one side the Prime Minister of India is continuously promising the people for good days, but other side the people are facing problems of erratic power supply.
The Purmandal village faces complete black out for last three days due to which people have been put to lot of trouble. Although the officers of the concerned department were informed about the issue but they failed to restore the power supply in the area, the villagers said.
They also said that the condition of the labour room of the Primary Health Centre Purmandal is totally pathetic for last many months, but no any officer of the Health Department takes steps for its proper maintenance.
They demanded an early settlement of their demands failing which they will be forced to intensify the protest in future.
