BJP leaders highlight Modi Govt’s initiatives to ensure universal health

JAMMU, Mar 7: An impressive function was organised by former Minister Priya Sethi in collaboration with American Oncology Institute (AOI) Jammu and NYLA, here today for highlighting the initiatives of Modi Government, particularly for welfare of women and their healthcare.
MP Jugal Kishore, former Dy CM Kavinder Gupta, BJP General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, BJP Distt President Vinay Gupta, Dy Mayor Purnima Sharma, President BJP Mahila Morcha, Rajni Sethi and others were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that Govt at Center was very serious towards health issues of women and as per recent statement more than 30 lakh women get PMJAY benefit, screened for cervical cancer under PM Modi’s flagship healthcare scheme.
Yudhvir Sethi said that India has adopted a multi-sectoral approach towards the health sector and people should take preventive measures against Coronavirus.
Dr Nadeem Shoket – Consultant Medical Oncology delivered a talk on women cancer, its symptoms, timely diagnosis and treatment. While briefing on breast cancer among women, Dr Shoket said that under possible conditions, breast cancer can also occur in men of young ages with or without a hereditary background of the disease in the family.
Shakuntala Kartam- Nursing Superintendent of Hospital, educated on self-examination of breast to ensure timely diagnose and detect any malignant growth in preliminary stage.
Former Minister Priya Sethi, while speaking on the occasion, said that the Government was committed to empowering women and securing the future of children. “Poshan Maah for ensuring a nutritious India, stringent POCSO law, freedom from triple divorce for women, 8 crore Ujjwala beneficiaries, decisions like sanitary pad in Rs 1, show commitment by our Government to the protection of woman power and securing the future children of the country,” she asserted.
In the function, Dr Nadeem Showkat, Ashutosh Gupta, Shakuntala Kartam and Sanjay Vohra were facilitated for their involvement in talk show. The whole programme was coordinated by Anju Dogra and Anita Gandotra.
