RAJOURI, Jan 12: The local residents from Thannamandi held protest against the unscheduled power cuts in the area today.
The protesters were shouting slogans against the Power Development Department (PDD) and the administration for its failure. The people criticized the concerned department and said that the process of unscheduled power cuts has been going on at various places in Thannamandi Sub-Division for the last over one month.
They said the people are being deliberately harassed by the PDD during the severe winter season, but monthly electricity bills are being sent continuously. They alleged that neither the employees are showing any interest in improving electricity system, nor attention is being paid to provide electricity supply properly.
It is pertinent to mention here that people are expressing their displeasure over attitude of concerned department officials in view of poor performance of the PDD in the area. They appealed the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and ensure adequate power supply to the people in Thannamandi Sub- Division.
