BHADERWAH, Mar 17: People held protest at Poneja against the delimitation of the wards and shifting the voters from one ward to other.
Carrying pla-cards, large number of people assembled by Poneja and raised slogans against the concerned department. The also burnt the effigies of the persons behind doing this.
The protesters were led by Somi Raj Bhagat, Sarpanch Poneja and social activist Rakesh Kotwal, while Pintu Kumar Bhagat, Mahinder Singh Kotwal, Sher Singh Kotwal, Dharalenter Singh Kotwal, Vinay Kumar Bhagat, Maharaj Krishan, Uttam Singh Kotwal, Sandesh Ramotra, Bachan Singh Masha, Sandep Masha and Ronki Ram also took part.
The protesters also blocked the Chiralla road for two hours and raised slogans against Administration.
They took strong notice of disturbing the existing wards in the panchayat for the vested interests and creating trouble for the inhabitants. They demanded immediate rolling back of the delimitation of Panchayat.
They also warned the authorities that if they fail to take back the decision which is totally against the wishes and convenience of the general public, they will launch protests and for any untoward incident, the Government and the administration will be responsible.
