People performing art of ‘waste’ material felicitated

RAJOURI, Oct 1: Municipal Council, Rajouri took another initiative on felicitation of waste entrepreneurs- `Waste to Art Exhibition/Bartan Bhandras’ at town hall here today.
The program was organised under the leadership of Chairman Municipal Council, Rajouri Mohd Arif including other Councillors in connection with Azadi ka Amrut. They have started an awareness campaign regarding felicitation of `waste entrepreneurs’ .
While taking to the media persons, Mohd Arif, President Municipality Rajouri said that it’s our prime duty to keep our city clean and not to throw garbage and other used items here and there due to which our sanitation workers are facing problems for lifting such garbage/ other material. He said Municipal Council Rajouri published this theme of “Waste to Art Exhibition/Bartan Bhandars” in media and on such request, four teams who are performing arts of waste to Art Exhibition / Bartan Bhandars participated in today’s function, in which sanitation workers, citizens , hostel students of Sewa Bharati J&K Rajouri unit, Councillors of Municipal Council Rajouri participated. Many were felicitated as well.
The Councillors along with hundreds of participants took pledge for `Swachta Abiyan’. Arif said due to unnecessary garbage/ other material the sanitation team is not only facing problems in day to day life but general masses are also facing problems like blockage of lanes and drains. Arif stressed that Prime Minister is very concerned about the health of the citizens of the country and the public must cooperate on this issue.
