KATHUA, Feb 5: The irate people of Jasrota held a protest demonstration and blocked the National Highway at Raj Bagh this evening in protest against the scarcity of drinking water and power crisis.
The Highway remained blocked for about 45 minutes and later the road blockade was lifted by the intervention of civil and police administration whose representatives visited the spot and pursued the protestors to lift the Highway blockade as their problem will be solved at an earliest.
The protestors raising slogans against the PHE Department said that local power transformer and PHE motor for supplying water in the area have become defunct for several days creating water crisis in the area. They warned to launch agitation again in case water supply was not restored to the area immediately.
