DODA, Oct 7: People living in chilly block and its adjoining areas have demanded repair and blacktopping of the road from Sunwara to Bhotali, which is in worst condition.
The people said that this 10 kilometer Sunwara to Bhotali road is in dilapidated condition since long, due to which commuters suffer a lot. “It is very difficult to travel on this accident prone road”, they said.
They added that hundreds of people commute on this road on daily basis and presently it is in deplorable condition, adding that condition of road deteriorates further due to rains.
During rainfall, it becomes almost impossible to commute on this road, they said, adding that despite repeated requests, no one from the administration paid heed to it.
“We will hold protest if the concerned department failed to repair and blacktop this road. For any untoward incident, the authorities will be responsible”, people said.
They appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to direct the concerned department for repair and blacktopping of this road, so that the commuters have some sigh of relief.
When contacted, AEE R&B Department Gurjeet Singh told EXCELSIOR that blacktopping work on this road will start very soon.
