MENDHAR, July 4: Almost all the interior roads of Mendhar town of Poonch district are in dilapidated condition, resulting into most inconvenience to general public.
People have demanded repair and blacktopping of road near Dhakki Petrol Pump, which connects several villages. This is the main road which leads to Sakhi Maidan, Mankote, Uchhad and Krishna Ghati to Poonch.
The locals said that thousands of people use this road on daily basis and presently it is in deplorable condition. They said the condition of road deteriorates further during rainy season.
The residents of Mendhar town alleged that the officials of concerned department are not inviting any tender for the repair of this road.
“Due to the dilapidated condition of the road and lack of proper drainage system, the commuters are facing problems,” they lamented.
The residents appealed the concerned authorities and the LG Jammu Kashmir UT and District administration to immediately repair the roads.
