KATHUA, Apr 25: The irate residents of Ward No 13 and 14 Parli Wand today held a protest demonstration and blocked Kathua-Pathankote road for half an hour this morning against the power crisis and water scarcity in the area.
The protesters said that unscheduled power cuts in the area have made the life of people miserable in this hot season when mercury is touching peak day by day. They said the power curtailment has also affected water supply in the area and people have been put to many hardships with the result they were forced to resort to agitation and road blockade.
The protesters warned that in case the power and water supply were not restored they will be forced to launch a massive agitation. Later they lifted the road blockade on the assurance of concerned police officers of the area who assured them that the power supply will be improved as they have taken up the issue with concerned officers.
