MENDHAR, Mar 15: The villagers blocked road after a young lady lawyer was allegedly attacked by some miscreants in Gursai area of Mendhar last evening.
Identified as Shazia Kouser, the lawyer who practices in J&K High Court, Jammu had gone to local court at Mendhar. She was returning home in her Indica car. Near Fambra Nad, some miscreants resorted to stone pelting on the car. The lawyer escaped to a nearby house after leaving car there. The vehicle was damaged.
Later, her family members and locals of the area came to know about the matter and started protest on the road. SHO Gursai reached the spot and registered a case in this connection. The people then lifted dharna. Police also identified some accused and started manhunt for them.
