JAMMU, Nov 23: The irate relatives and family members of an accident victim who died at Escort Fortis, Amritsar late last night blocked the National Highway at Bari Brahmana for 40 minutes this evening.
According to police two persons were injured during a matador accident at Four Number Factory in Bari Brahmana area five days back. The deceased who has been identified as Rajiv Goswami, son of Khem Raj of Smailpur was taken to Escort Fortis for specialized treatment by his family members where he succumbed to his injuries late last night.
The protestors squatted on the road along with the dead body and accused police of releasing the matador involved in the accident.
However the concerned Police officers said that the matador was released on the basis of court orders. Police said the driver who is still in police custody is however minor.
BJP leader Chander Parkash Ganga reached the spot and demanded punishment under law against driver. On his intervention protestors dispersed.
