JAMMU, Feb 1: All J&K Pensioners Association, Jammu in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Abrol its general secretary in which various problems of the pensioners were highlighted.
Mr Abrol informed the meeting that the memorandum was sent to Chief Secretary a month back and he assured that 17 percent DA will be released soon @ 10 percent from January 2014 and seven percent from July 2014. Besides installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears pending with the Government, enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs 1000 per month and grant of pensionary benefits at par with Union Government be also paid to State Government pensioners.
The Association however expressed its satisfaction over the announcement of the Governor, N N Vohra that the D A will be announced within two to three days. Mr Abrol made an appeal to Governor to take personnel interest in this regard.
The Association also made an appeal to Union Finance Minster Arun Jaitely and Union Minister in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh to intervene in the matter and bring out the State from financial crisis.
