Pensioners list demands

JAMMU, May 30: All Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners and Civil Society held a meeting under the chairmanship of Society president S Ajit Singh Adyal in which burning demands were discussed.
The speakers including N D Sharma appreciated the concern of the pensioners and demanded additional quantum of pension after attaining age of 80 years and above up to 100 years on the analogy of Central Government.
Other demands highlighted in the meeting pertained to 6% DA from January this year; Removal of disparity in non-issuance of modification in the existing rules under SROs 92, 93 and 94 of 2009 and Government Order No. 57-F of 2013 dated 11-3-2013 (Revision of pay scales with effect from 1-1-2006) for providing full pension benefits to the State Pensioners/ Family Pensioners having lesser qualifying service than 33 years and getting less than 50% pension in favour of pre2006 pensioners who retired from Government service before January 1, 2006, as has been done by the Central Government in favour of pre-2006 retirees.
They also demanded enhancement in Medical Allowance to Rs 2000 per month; Provision of Time Bound Promotions due from 5th Pay Commission under SRO 14 of 1996 in favour of drivers, conductors and cleaners after regular service period of 9, 18 and 27 years, etc.
The participants included Jagdish Sharma, Mohd Shafi, J K Gupta, C D Verma, Co Munir Khan, S K Dubey, S K Kassu, O P Lakhnotra, D K Sharma, S R Amla, Uttam Chand, Darshan Lal and Amrik Singh.
