JAMMU, May 30: Dr Gagan Bhagat MLA  RS Pura today laid foundation stone of shopping complex at RS Pura Bus Stand, where a large number of people from the RS Pura market, presidents of various business and commercial organizations, people from social, religious and all walks of life were present.
While addressing the gathering Dr Gagan Bhagat said that this project was the need of the hour and since the Bus Stand of RS Pura is one of the most busiest Bus Stands in the State, but the previous successive Governments and the public representatives did not pay attention towards it. The said project will be completed within one year and around 13 shops will be taken up in the first phase and an amount of Rs 40 lakh approximately will be spent on this project. Besides there will be all the modern and essential facilities for the passengers which will include Air Conditioned waiting hall, Modern Sulabh Shauchalya, special bay for the old and disabled persons, in which 20 buses can be parked at a time.
Dr Gagan Bhagat laid stress on the LED lightning of the whole Bus Stand along with beautification with flowering plants, and he focussed on the security of the passengers. He directed the concerned authorities to install CCTVs in and around the Bus Stand along with Food Court for the refreshment of the passengers.
While addressing the gathering Director Urban Local Bodies Soujanya Sharma said that the demands were put forward by the MLA RS Pura in the recently concluded District Development Board meeting at Jammu and in a record time the department had initiated the process, he further informed the gathering that Dr Gagan Bhagat had desired to beautify the main road especially from SKUAST main gate to the Suchetgarh Road Chowk and in this regard directions have been issued to the concerned technical experts who will submit a detailed report within a fortnight.
