Pensioners, employees’ delegation meets DC, discusses issues

SRINAGAR, July 9: A joint delegation of Pensioners Welfare Society Ganderbal and Government Employees Federation led by patron of the two organizations, Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani called on District Development Commissioner Ganderbal today and discussed various issues of pensioners and local people with him.
The delegation demanded issuance of citizen cards to the remaining pensioners who have not been issued the same till date. It also demanded release of third installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears to pensioners at an earliest.
The delegation while discussing the problems of the public stressed on improvement in transport facilities and development of Zakoora Ganderbal road.
The Deputy Commissioner gave instructions to ADC Ganderbal asking him to speed up the process of issuance of citizens cards to pensioners.
Later the delegation also met the Executive Engineer M&RE Ganderbal and demanded release of third installment of Pay Commission arrears with him. The other members of the delegation included Sheikh Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shilwati general secretary of the Society, Abdul Ahad Rather, president Government Employment Federation and Ghulam Nabi Shah its tehsil president.
Later the pensioners held a meeting in which concern was expressed over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and the coalition Government policies were held responsible for the same.
