SRINAGAR, July 9: Skipper Ramdayal Punia and Imtiyaz Malik helped Jumbo Gladiators to register a 7-run win over Ahad Sultans in the ongoing Big-GK Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL) at Bijbehara, today.
Earlier, batting first, in a rain-hit match, Jumbo Gladiators scored 82 for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 10 overs. Ramdayal contributed unbeaten 35 runs off 23 balls, while Imtiyaz Malik scored 27 off 21 balls. For Ahad Sultans, Umar Mumtaz took 2 wickets, while Umar Majid claimed one.
In reply, Ahad Sultans, despite a superb knock of 42 runs in just 23 balls by Vishwajeet Singh, fell short of 7 runs as the team managed to score 76 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated overs. Rohit Bhat scored 13 runs to the total. For Jumbo Gladiators, Raman Dutta scalped 3 wickets, while Kuldeep Kumar claimed 2. Imtiyaz Malik was adjudged man of the match.
In another match, Kehwa Kings defeated Simula Bulls by 6 wickets. Batting first, Simula Bulls scored 97 runs in 12 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Yasir Ali top scored with 34 runs, while skipper Dhruv Mahajan contributed unbeaten 23 runs. Ashraf claimed 3 important wickets for Kehwa Kings.
Kehwa Kings chased the target in 11.3 overs, scoring 101 for the loss of 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Arshid Khawaja scored quick-fire 45 runs while, Ishtiyaq contributed 23 runs to the total. For Simula Bulls, Hardeep Singh bagged 2 wickets. Arshid Khawaja was adjudged man of the match.
