Pensioners demand implementation of 7th Pay Commission report

JAMMU, Nov 16: State Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Federation in a meeting at Srinagar today demanded immediate implementation of 7th Pay Commission report for the State Government employees and pensioners.
The meeting, which was chaired by the patron of the Federation Mir Ghulam Rasool highlighted various problems being faced by the pensioners and State Government employees in view of the skyrocketing prices.  He said the price rise has broken the back of common man especially poor and lower grade employees and pensioners so the Government should not delay the implementation of Seventh Pay Commission report.
Mir, while highlighting the other demands stressed on implementation of SRO 59 in letter and spirit, giving the insurance cover to health cases of State Government employees on the pattern of Central Government employees, regularization of daily wagers, adhoc employees, Anaganwari workers, hike in the pay of Anganwari workers, Nambardars and Chowkidars and release of wages of casual laborers, daily wagers and need based workers who have not been paid the same for years together.
He also demanded regularization of those daily wagers without any time bar who have donated their land free of cost for Government schemes on the assurance that they will be provided a Government job.
While terming the recent Government decision to hike the wages of daily wagers, skilled, semi skilled and unskilled workers a result of protracted struggle of the working class he urged the Government to implement the same without any delay.
The meting among others was addressed by Sheikh Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shilwati, Abdul Rehman Hajam and Abdul Satar Mir.
