Govt stress on use of tech-tools in security, says Hansraj Ahir

NEW DELHI, Nov 16: Government has deployed a host of security related modern technologies and equipment to keep a check on intrusion in Kashmir and are using the same on other fronts, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir said on Thursday.

Speaking at an ASSOCHAM event here, the Minister said these technology-enabled tools have also been used to deal with Naxalites, growing issues of youth radicalisation in Kerala, security of Railways, airports and other such places. Mr Ahir ensured the industry that Government will look into their demands and suggestions.

“The industry must come up with indigenously developed smart technologies and Government will help in research and development (R&D) in this regard.” he said. He further added that Government will work in tandem with private industry to deal with all the homeland security related threats and challenges faced by the country.

On the issue of recent incursion bids made by China he said, “China today is not a very close friend of ours, they have always raised problems for the country. And be it China, Myanmar, Bangladesh or terrorists coming into India through Pakistan we need to utilise and we will promote the usage of various modern technologies to curb intrusion.” (UNI)
