JAMMU, Apr 29: In a meeting of Municipal & Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association chaired by Y.S Jamwal, Association president the speakers expressed concern over the poor sanitation in the city.
Speaking in the meeting the Association members said that sanitation staff is not seriously working in their areas.
They also said that five years back Housing and Urban Development Department had directed Municipal Bodies to collect garbage from door-to-door of households and shops.
“Also dustbins were given to the households and it was decided to charge for garbage collection but the scheme has failed now,” the speakers in the meeting said.
They appealed to the Governor to intervene so that cleanliness is ensured in the city.
