KATHUA, Feb 25: The residents of village Khokhyal in Kathua blocked the Nagari road for one hour against the police and district administration after a speedy Matador killed a pedestrian on the road. The pedestrian Balkar Chand, 50 ,son of Pritam Chand resident of Khokhyal, Kathua was walking on the road when a speedy matador ran over him which resulted in his on spot death.

The local people came to streets and protested against administration for worse condition of road and accused Kathua Police and Traffic Police for its failure to control the over speedy Matador. They demanded the stern action against erring driver and compensation to bereaved family. The Tehsildar Nagari, Suninder Kour, DySP Mehboob Majid and SHO Sanjiv Chib assured the people to fulfill their demands and asked to lift the protest dharna. A case was registered by police and manhunt was started to nab the driver.
