JAMMU, Oct 10: A pedestrian was killed tonight in a road mishap in Satwari area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a pedestrian namely Karya (30) son of Chot, resident of Chibra, Mau (UP), presently residing at Ashok Nagar (Satwari), sustained serious injuries today at about 9 pm while crossing a road, a speeding bike bearing registration number JK02PK-3888, hit him near Satwari Chowk.
The injured man was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem.
In this connection, Satwari police had registered a case and started investigations while efforts were on to nab the accused bike rider, who fled from the spot after committing the crime.
