Package employees hold demonstration at Anantnag

JAMMU, Oct 10: The PM package employees held a protest demonstration at Anantnag today against the Government apathy towards them.
The protest demonstration was led by All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) chief Vinod Pandit and it was also addressed by representatives of the package employees.
Raising slogans in support of their demands the package employees alleged harassment through the hands of the authorities especially of Education Department.
Addressing the protesters Vinod Pandit urged the Government not to backtrack from its promises made with these employees who are working in Valley under challenging situation.
He said that the employees were facing the harassment through the hands of the authorities and they are also facing accommodation problems. He demanded immediate steps be taken to provide accommodation to these employees by speeding up the construction on the quarters at Vessu, Sheikhpora and other places.
Pandit also demanded release of salaries in favour of the employees and warned against harassing them on this account. He urged the Education Minister that instead of issuing warnings to these employees, he should try to create congenial atmosphere in the Valley so that these people can feel at home there and discharge their duties without any trouble and problem.
