JAMMU, Mar 9: A pedestrian died after being hit by an unknown vehicle near RTO Office, falling under the Lakhanpur police station.
As per police sources, a pedestrian identified as Dinesh Singh, son of Tarlok Singh, a resident of Uttrakhand was hit by an unknown vehicle near RTO office.
The profusely bleeding victim was shifted to District Hospital, where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
Meanwhile, a man identified as Gani Sham Verma, son of Shanti Swaroop, a resident of Chak Partap fell unconscious after consuming some poisonous substance at his residence.
He was shifted to District Hospital Kathua, where he failed to respond to the treatment and breathed his last.
The bodies have been shifted to mortuary of DH for postmortem, which will be conducted tomorrow.
Cases have been registered at concerned police stations and investigation started.
