Pedestrian arrested with illicit liquor pouches

JAMMU, Jan 5: Police arrested a pedestrian along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Muthi area, falling under the jurisdiction of Domana police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Domana police station laid a naka at Muthi and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the person escaped from the spot. Smelling something fishy, police chased and nabbed the person.
During checking, police recovered 42 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The bootlegger has been identified as Tej Ram, son of Mangtu Ram, a resident of Dai Chak.
A case under FIR Number 5/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Domana police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Domana police station Inspector Rajinder Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Domana SK Sharma, SP Rural Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
