UDHAMPUR, Feb 10: Udhampur Police in Ramnagar today foiled a bid of narcotics smuggling and recovered charas from one peddler.
“While performing routine checking at naka point Ramnagar, a team of Police Station Ramnagar intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14B-6363 for thorough search,” a Police spokesman said.
He said on frisking of driver of the vehicle, the Police team made a recovery of 62 grams of charas from the accused person namely Rishpal son of Premu, resident of Ward Number 8, Ramnagar.
“The peddler was arrested and a case under FIR Number 12/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Rammagar,” the spokesman added.
The arrest and recovery took place by the special efforts of Inspector Pushpinder Singh (SHO Ramnagar) under the supervision of Additional SP Udhampur Anwaar Ul Haq and SDPO Ramnagar Vishal Manhas.
