JAMMU, June 4: Peace and normalcy has returned to Jammu and Kashmir under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the UT has become almost terror-free.
This was stated by Choudhary Sukhnandan while addressing a public gathering at Gajansoo Marh today in connection with completion of 9 years of Narendra Modi Government.
Conveyed his wishes to Prime Minister, Sukhnandan said,”PM Modi’s decisive leadership has transformed Jammu and Kashmir into a peaceful and almost terror-free region, which has become possible by the removal of Article 370, a major obstacle in the development of the region.”
He also praised the economic growth under PM Modi’s leadership, noting that the country’s economy had grown from 1 trillion dollars in 2014 to 3.5 trillion dollars at present.
Sukhnandan mentioned the direct transfer of Rs 29 lakh crore to beneficiary bank accounts and the successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana (PMGKAY), which provided free food grains to over 80 crore poor people across the country.
Additionally, he highlighted the achievements in providing financial support to street vendors through the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme, sanctioning loans under Stand Up India to SC and ST beneficiaries, and registering unorganized workers in the E-Shram Portal.
Sukhnandan praised the infrastructure development under PM Modi’s leadership, including the ongoing road and highways projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore and the upcoming train service from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
He also mentioned Srinagar’s opportunity to host the first-ever G-20 Summit with a focus on exploring tourism potential and the record number of tourist arrivals in J&K in 2022.
Sukhnandan also acknowledged the importance of infrastructure projects such as the Z-morh tunnel and Navyoug tunnels in connecting Kashmir with Ladakh and reducing travel time between Srinagar and Jammu.
