Sir,
The decision to confer the Indira Gandhi Prize to Indian Space Agency (ISRO) for year 2014 is more than welcome.
ISRO deserves all accolades for taking Indian space science to skies. It has put India into an elite club of countries having latest sophisticated technology. The Mars Mission gave a new dimension to Indian space science. The award jury chaired by vice president Hamid Ansari has acknowledged its (ISRO) role in promoting braod based and sustainable social and economic development and addressing basic needs of people particularly in remote and rural areas of the country.
The award will encourage the organisation to explore new areas in space, and enable India to rely on its own technology and infrastrucutre and reduce dependence on foreign countries. ISRO is an organisation, of which every Indian is proud. The more we praise it, the less it would it.
Yours etc…
