SRINAGAR: The State Government was left red-faced after ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker Javid Hassan Beig accused Legislative Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta of being weak.
As the Assembly was discussing the resolution on GST, Independent MLA Er Abdul Rashid repeatedly interrupted the lawmakers, demanding resolution of Kashmir issue. Irked by the repeated disruptions, Mr Beig entered into a heated argument with Er Rashid.
Mr Beig also lashed out at the Speaker, saying, “We have a weak Speaker who is allowing you (Er Rashid) to do this.” To this, opposition parties accused the PDP lawmaker of insulting the chair. (AGENCIES)
