SRINAGAR, Jan 16: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti, has called a meeting of her party’s Core Group tomorrow to discuss the future course of action on Government formation.
A senior leader of the party said that the PDP president has convened a meeting at her residence at 2 pm tomorrow. He said that those invited to the meeting include the MLAs, MLCs, MPs former Ministers and senior party office bearers.
This is the first formal meeting of the party after the death of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7. The meeting has significance as PDP says that the decision on Government formation will be taken after the party reviews implementation of its Agenda of Alliance with the BJP during the 10-month coalition.
The BJP maintains that the PDP has to make the first move by electing its Legislature Party leader before they can extend support to it for Government formation.
