JAMMU, Oct 26: To kick start the election campaign and to listen to the problems to the residents, senior PDP leader Vikramaditya Singh visited Bishnah constituency.
During his visit, the residents of village Chack Avtaran, Chack Jarala and Chorlli apprised Singh about the bad and dilapidated condition of various roads, lanes and drains.
At some places of people complained that they have not received the charges under MANREGA Scheme.
While speaking Vikramaditya Singh said that People’s Democratic Party Patron Mufti Mohammad Syed had sanctioned a Degree College for Bishnah during his power but it is a pity that the college is still without the proper infrastructure. This institution is functional in just three or four rooms, he added.
Singh assured the people that if his party is voted to power again, a new phase of development will be started in the constituency as the party gives the priority to the prosperity and development of the State.
He also expressed concern and anguish over the non-availability of basic facilities in the Bishnah Constituency.
During the tour of different areas of the Bishnah Constituency, Singh observed that the people of the area are facing multiple problems due to the negligence of the Government machinery.
Expressing sympathy with the border firing victims, he observed that the condition of these people in the camps is miserable and pathetic. Already disturbed by the Pakistani firing the farmers are worried about their basmati crop which was damage due to wind storm and rains some time ago, he added.
Government has sanctions a meager sum of Rs 450 per kanal as compensation which is a cruel joke with the farmers growing the world class basmati, he said, adding that due to the continuums firing from across the border the farmers are unable to harvest the crop.
