PDP-BJP are posturing on issues, stand exposed: Mir

Reasi, June 1:                   Pradesh Congress Committee president  Ghulam Ahmed  Mir has today said that U-turn by the BJP-PDP on their ideologies and all core issues has exposed the two parties before the people for their opportunistic politics.
Addressing a party convention of  District  Congress Committee at Reasi today, the PCC chief said that BJP-PDP are fundamentally  oppose each other on all core issues and their opportunistic alliance is a betrayal to their respective electorates whom they exploited on the basis of  their own ideology and commitments to various contentious issues in the state.
Mr Mir said that both the parties maintain their public posturing on various core issues which being in coalition for the sake of power only has created an atmosphere of confusion and mistrust in the minds of people. The fundamental difference and compulsions of politics drive both the parties to keep their rhetoric’s to hoodwink the people but the people have understand their tactics and fed up from their public posture on various issues.
He said that Congress is re-emerging as a strong force in all parts of the state, as the  people have realized that both the parties (BJP-PDP) exploited them on the basis of region, religion and other sentiments on different issues as per tactical understanding in order to reach the ladder of power and have no commitment to their ideologies and stand exposed before the people of all three regions of the state.
Mr Mir lashed out at BJP for its U-turn on all important commitments made during elections and said falsehood of   Modi Government has exposed during short period of one year. He referred to various announcements like to bring back black money and control of prices of essential commodities and said  that it has failed in all fronts and working for the benefit of rich and corporate sector only.
PCC vice president Mula Ram while addressing, cautioned the people against the divisive politics of BJP-PDP and other caste based and religion based parties who are weakening the secular fabric of the state. He said that Congress is the only force which has always taken care of poor and downtrodden sections of society and asked people to strengthen Congress party at all levels and expressed confidence that Congress would stage a comeback.
Jugal Kishore Sharma-MLC while welcoming the PCC president and other senior leaders of the party highlighted the local issues of the district regarding Community Health Center (CHC) at Reasi,  abolishing of Toll Plaza at Ban and issues of Baridars in the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. He said that during elections Prime Minister  Narendra Modi made promises to give share to the  Baridars of  Shrine. He lashed out at BJP for exploiting the religious sentiments of the people and ensure empowerment of Jammu region, but party has surrendered all important issues for the sake of power.
Former MoS Aijaz Ahmed Khan also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier,  hundreds of Congress workers led by  Jugal Kishore Sharma (MLC) and  Pritam Singh- DCC president Reasi marched through main bazaar  of  Reasi city and submitted a memorandum to District Administration over the issue of setting up of AIIMS in Jammu, opening of  Community Health Center at Reasi, abolishing of Toll Tax at Ban, Share to Pujaries and Baridars of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and demanding of  wages to the workers and opposing realignment of  Katra-Banihal Railway line.
Prominent among those who attended the convention included Kanta  Bhan, Ravinder Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, Namrata Sharma, Indu Pawar,  Pranav Shagotra, Pawan Raina, Narinder Sharma, Pritam Singh, Hari Singh Chib, Pankaj Basotra, Geeta Devi, Shakeel Shah, Sardari Lal Dubey,  Rehana and Arun Sharma.
