SRINAGAR, Aug 23: The Power Development Department’s (PDD) system has generated a bill of around Rs 1.5 crore for 181 BN CRPF camp in Sub-Division Charar-e-Sharief in district Budgam.
The bill for July has been generated by the system and its due date is August 17, however, the department said that there must be some error and that the same was being identified.
While the bill shows an opening balance of around Rs 1.5 crores, it adds Rs 1500 for one month from July 1 to July 31. The error, as pointed out by the department, does not seem to be with the billing process of the said month, however, the same appears to have sneaked in the previous records, reflected a huge amount as opening balance.
It is to be mentioned here that the sanctioned load of the installation-which has been billed with Rs 1.5 crore-is just 50 KW.
Chief Engineer, PDD Ajaz Dar told Excelsior that there has to be some error in the process of bill generation, particularly the one that has been billed around Rs 1.5 crores.
“I have talked to the concerned Executive Engineer and I have asked him to get the earlier billing details of the bill in focus; there has to be some error; this amount is not possible under the load that has been sanctioned,” he said.
