SRINAGAR, July 8: A Power Development Department (PDD) employee was electrocuted and died when he got in contact with a live wire in Leh, a police spokesman said here this afternoon.
A PDD employee namely Puntsog Angchuk was repairing a transmission line when he got in contact with a live wire and was critically injured. He was shifted to Sub District Hospital Khaltsi, Leh for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead.
After completing medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his next of kin for last rites.
