Srinagar, Mar 2: Employees working in the Power Development Corporation today demanded that their arrears under 7th Pay Commission must be released without any further delay.
The protestors said that all the Government employees have reaped the benefits of the Pay Commission, but the employees working in the Corporation have been left out of it so far.
“With this, the employees who are not getting the arrears are bearing a loss of around Rs 8000 annually; the brunt it being faced by the class 4th employees working in the Corporation,” President, Kashmir Electric Employees Association Bashir Ahmad Magray said.
Further the employees are not even getting the pension owing to the fact that the PDD owes money to the Corporation which has not been cleared as yet and due to which they are suffering.
“As the pension is not being released, the employees are suffering, so are their families,” they said.
The employees demanded that the pension benefits must be released in their favour and those who have been appointed after 1995, the Government must formulate a policy for them.
“Apart from this the arrears of the Pay Commission must be released immediately, daily wagers, contractuals and adhoc employees must be regularized as well.
