JAMMU, Sept 15: PCC Migrant Cell held a meeting of Muslim migrants here today under the chairmanship of its convener Ghulam Qadir Bhat. The meeting among others was addressed by Hira Lal Pandita chairman of the Cell and other leaders.
The meeting while threadbare discussing the various problems of the migrants demanded that the cash relief for the month of September be paid in advance before the holy festival of Eid-ul- Zuha so as has been a practice in past for celebration of religious festivals.
The meeting made an appeal to Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in this regard. It also demanded speeding up of process for implementation of PM’s employment package for Kashmiri migrants announced by then PM Dr Manmohan Singh way back in 2008. The meeting also demanded compensation for over-aged youth and damaged properties.
