SRINAGAR, Aug 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has condemned the Govt move of detention of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Gulam Nabi Azad and PCC chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir at Srinagar Airport forcing their return to Delhi.
A PCC spokesman said that both the leaders reached Srinagar Airport at 11.30 AM today, but they were not allowed to come out of Srinagar Airport, which is very unfortunate and matter of serious concern.
He said this type of tyrannical attitude exhibits how Centre Govt wants to crush the genuine voices in the State, reflecting how grave situation is prevailing in Kashmir Valley right now.
The spokesman said both the leaders were scheduled to hold important meeting with Party leaders in Srinagar to deliberate over current situation in J&K in the backdrop of abrogation of Article 370, besides bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir State.
The JKPCC expressed serious concern over the extremely disturbing situation in the Valley and elsewhere, emphasizing the Centre to stop punishing & intimidating the political leaders and people of Jammu and Kashmir under the garb of strict restriction imposed in J&K.
