With abrogation of Article 370, industry will flourish in J&K: FOIJ

JAMMU, Aug 8: Federation of Industries, Jammu (FOIJ), chairman Rattan Dogra has appreciates the new vistas created in the state due to abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution of India.
In a press statement, FOIJ chairman while expressing satisfaction over the new developments said that the abrogation shall not have any adverse impact in the existing Goods and Service Tax structure. Since the new industrial units shall have the privilege of hassle free manner for acquiring land for their envisaged projects through outright purchase unlike the present scenario in which SICOP/SIDCO allot land for setting of Industries with numerous restrictions and obligations.
FOIJ has been repeatedly trying to seek the state Govt’s. attention towards the 2016 Industrial Policy which requires instant revisiting and the opportunity has emerged consequent to withdraw Article 370 and 35A of the Constitution of India through properly associating the existing local Industrial Sector which has been feeling totally neglected for quite some time.
“In view of the abrogation of the Article 370 and 35A, it has become more imperative to accord immediate priority in this regard to redevise State Industrial Policy in view of the totally changed environment to attract large scale fresh investment for large scale generation of additional employment avenues,” Dogra added.
He said the FOIJ seeks the urgent attention of the Governor and his Advisors to acknowledge the fact that the existing Industrial Sector and its Micro/Small entrepreneurs largely local ‘sons of the soil’ entrepreneurs shall be the best Brand Ambassadors to supplement the State Govt’s attempts in this regard.
Meanwhile, the FOIJ has sought the urgent attention of the Governor and his Advisors to favourably consider to restore the competitive edge to existing local Micro/Small units that became redundant due to the shifting from VAT to GST regime. FOIJ also requested the Governor and his Advisors to reconsider to withdraw various unwarranted restrictions and negative lists which give the impressions that the state is already largely industrialized contrary to the factual ground realities.
