Bhalla’s supporters take out massive rally

JAMMU, Mar 25: Former Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president, GA Mir today expressed hope that people of the State would not repeat the mistake of 2014 which left them suffering for five years.
Addressing large rally, before filing of nomination papers by Congress candidate from Jammu Poonch Parliamentary seat, Raman Bhalla here today, Mir expressed hope and confidence that this time people of Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency will not repeat the mistake of 2014 after suffering for the last five years in the absence of basic amenities but to talk of development and other facilities.

Mir alleged that in 2014 elections, BJP Government had promised with people for better days but till date, they had done nothing in this regard as people of the areas are facing many hardships. He alleged that they gathered votes during the election on fake promises and later turned Nelson’s eye towards the miseries of the people of the area.
He said Congress Party has a strong base among the people. It will re-emerge in coming elections and form next Government in country. “BJP who ruled Jammu and Kashmir along with PDP for three years has been exposed for its false promises. They have only one agenda of `divide and rule’. Development for this political party (BJP) is only a slogan,” he alleged.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla lambasted BJP leadership and said that during last five years, unemployment has been all time high in the country. He said that people have understood the nefarious designs of BJP and further requested the people to raise the questions to BJP leadership when they come for votes that though after giving them huge mandate from Jammu region then also why they were neglected on all fronts. Bhalla said many project started by previous Congress Govt has come to halt. He said no new project was started here by BJP Government.
Later, thousands of party workers and supporters on cars, scooters/ motor-cycles and even on horses besides hundreds on- foot, accompanied Bhalla upto DC Office, on Wazarat Road. The workers and supporters were carrying placards praising Bhalla. Amidst beat of drums, the supporters, dancing and singing, reached DC office raising loud slogans in favour of Bhalla.
PCC chief and all prominent leaders of District Congress Committee were present alongside of Bhalla during filing his nomination. Prominent among those who accompanied Bhalla included former DyCM Tara Chand, former Ministers Mulla Ram, RS Chib, Rigzin Zora- (all Cong), Ajay Sadhotra (NC), former MLA Thakur Balwan Singh (Cong), Manmohan Singh (Cong), former MLA Ajaz Jan (NC), Mustaq Bukhari (NC), Rattan Lal Gupta (NC) besides others.
