JAMMU, June 1: Migrant Cell PCC in a meeting at Jagti today besides discussing prevailing political situation in the State also deliberated on various issues pertaining Kashmiri migrants.
The meeting was chaired by the chairman of the Cell, Hira Lal Pandita. Addressing the meeting convener of the Cell Ghulam Qadir Bhat took serious exception to the statement of Shabnam Lone saying Kashmiris are “confused Indians”.
Bhat said how she has made such a statement when his father was a Minister and also a MLA for number of terms. He said earlier she had also attributed some confusing statements about Kashmir Pandits which has hurt the sentiments of these peace loving people.
He also criticized Lone for her outbursts against the Congress Party of which his late father was also a member for a long time who had also served as a Minister in the Congress Government.
The meeting expressed grave concern over the failure of Government in providing ration to Kashmiri migrants and alleged that the displaced people are without ration since February this year. They alleged that since the coalition came to power the migrants were put to many problems as they never got the ration and relief in time.
Decrying the Government’s callousness towards migrants H L Pandita alleged that Government seems to be totally confused so far as the settlement of the migrants issues are concerned and BJP was exposed for its tall claims which the party had made about migrants when it was out of power.
The meeting also expressed grave concern over the disappearance of the JKP cop Sameer Baht and accused the Government of its total failure in tracing him.
The meeting among others was attended by M N Pandita, vice chairman of the Cell, Chuni Lal Kandi, B L Raina and Kiran Raina general secretaries, Shadi Lal Pandita, co convener, V Ganjoo secretary and Avtar Krishan Raina organizing secretary.
