PCC briefs Rahul, Azad, Soni on Kashmir situation

NEW DELHI, Aug 16: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president  GA Mir accompanied by senior party functionaries of PCC called on Central leadership of the Party here and briefed them on the situation in Kashmir.
PCC chief during meeting with AICC vice president, Rahul Gandhi briefed him about the deteriorating situation in Kashmir valley. Both the leaders discussed at length, the current unrest in the Valley and killings of the civilians.
Mr Mir briefed AICC vice president about the failures of the Coalition Govt in putting an end the current unrest in the Valley. He also told Rahul Gandhi about the rising anger among the people in the backdrop of regular incidents of firing and killings.
PCC chief also called on  AICC general secretary Ambika Soni and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Threadbare discussions with regard to continuous deteriorating situation in the Valley were held. Mir also apprised the leaders about mishandling of the situation by the PDP- BJP Coalition Govt in the state as a result, the situation has deteriorated considerably in some other parts as well.
The Central leadership of AICC while expressing serious concern termed the current unrest in the valley as very unfortunate and distressing. They also expressed anguish over the loss of lives and damages caused to properties.
