JAMMU, Aug 16: VHP senior leader, Dr Rama Kant Dubey today expressed serious concern over the attack on Budha Amarnath yatris at Mandi and demanded stern action against the culprits trying to disturb peace in Jammu region too.
In a statement issued here today, the VHP leader said that it is for second time since the Budha Amarnath yatra started on August 9 that pilgrims have been attacked to sabotage the yatra under a big conspiracy.
The VHP leader said that some vested elements are hell bent to disturb peace in Jammu too where the people have not paid any heed to disturbances in Kashmir valley. This has become an eye sore for the enemy agents in the State who are now hell bent to disturb the peace in Jammu region.
Dr Dubey while warning such elements said no body will be allowed to take people to ransom and attack the yatris. He said VHP had earlier also foiled the plans of such elements who tried to make the Budha Amarnath yatra a failure by forcing minority Hindus to migrate from the hilly reaches of Poonch and Rajouri districts. It was VHP and Bajrang Dal (BD) which took a stand and started the yatra a fresh by sending hundreds of BD volunteers to perform darshan at holy shrine.  Since then the yatra proceeded smoothly. He said there was such an effect of the process started by VHP and BD that the Hindus who had migrated from far-flung areas of the twin districts later returned to their homes and hearts. But some vested elements and enemy agents are hell bent to create disturbances in this region also which the VHP will not allow to happen at any cost. He urged the Government to expose such elements and put them behind the bars.
