REASI, June 9: The team of State Pollution Control Board returned empty handed from Katra after facing tough opposition from the hoteliers and their workers.
Reports said that the team which arrived at Katra from Jammu today sought cooperation from Tehsildar and local police for the ‘sealing operation’ . While the Revenue officials and local police allegedly delayed the process, claiming that proper procedure was not adopted by PCB officials in executing operation, in between huge mob gathered there. They strongly opposed the move and in amidst heated arguments, the team had to move  back to Jammu. No senior officer from the PCB was heading the operation today.
It may be recalled that on the directions of the State High Court, the sealing process of  illegal structures has started. Due to lack of proper coordination between the concerned Government agencies, the operation could not be accomplished. It was also alleged that information had already been leaked about the operation by some insiders.
