Pawan says special package for stadium sanctioned on his representation

UDHAMPUR, July 6: Pawan Gupta, MLA Udhampur  has claimed credit for sanctioning of Rs 10 crores for completion of Subash Sports Stadium in Udhampur by   Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State Independent Charge for Development of North Eastern Region, MOS PMO, Personal, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space.
Addressing a press conference, here today, Pawan Gupta said the amount has been sanctioned for the completion of outdoor Subash Sports Stadium, Udhampur as well as new Indoor Sports Hall under Special Package to Jammu & Kashmir as a part of revised allocation of funds in response to a written representation made by him.
The MLA said that he was vigorously agitating for establishment of independent indoor stadium in Udhampur apart from completion of outdoor stadium,  which  has been abandoned due to bad workmanship for the last over six years.
“It was only on my persistent demand and agitation in the House that Secretary to J&K Government recommended the case to Government of India vide DO number Tech. Edu. / Plan/ SP/inf/68 dated 25.06.2016 following which  Dr  Jitendra Singh,  who was also holding the additional charge of Sports Ministry (independently) granted Rs  10 corers for the completion of Subash Sports Stadium and Rs  4 corers for a new indoor hall at Udhampur,” Pawan Gupta elaborated.
Expressing his pleasure on achieving this milestone to fulfill the long pending demand of youths of Udhampur, especially the sports persons, the MLA also gave credit for the same to people of Udhampur, who gave mandate in his favor to represent them in the Assembly of the State.
Gupta reiterated that his only mission was the overall development of Udhampur Assembly constituency and he would always raise his voice in favor of the people of Jammu region.
