UDHAMPUR, July 19: Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta today kick started the construction work of lane and drain at Dandi Swami Temple in Ward No. 11 of Shiv Nagar area in Udhampur town.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the work will be executed by the Udhampur Municipal Council with an estimated cost of Rs. 5 lakhs and would cater to the problems of the people of the ward; besides facilitating the students who use the lane to reach the P G Boys College.
Mr. Gupta instructed the executing agency to complete the work in a stipulated time without compromising the quality of construction work so that the people may not suffer more. He said that coalition Government is committed to provide all basic facilities to the people of the State adding that various development projects have been started in Udhampur for improving the living standards of the people of the area.
On the occasion, the Minister also listened to the day-to-day problems of the people relating to the sanitation, water, power and other allied issues. He said that the Government is well conversant with the problems of the areas and efforts are being made to fulfill each and everybody’s genuine demand in a phased manner. He asked the people to cooperate with the administration in ensuring expeditious development.
