UDHAMPUR, Mar 13: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Udhampur, Pawan Gupta organized a public darbar at Dak Banglow here, today for the redressal of public grievances.
During the public darbar, a deputation of Lansi village of Syal Jattan Panchayat under the leadership of Parshotam Kumar apprised the MLA about the problem of drinking water in their area which is becoming a serious issue. He said it is unfortunate that their village is hardly five kilometer away from District Head Quarter Udhampur and even 70 years after independence the people are dependent on natural source of water (Bowlis) by covering a distance of 2 kilometer.
They demanded laying down of about 500 meter long pipe lines for the supply of water in their area to solve the problem. Another deputation of Malard Panchayat under the leadership of Mohammad Bashir of Sukhdev Singh demanded replacement of the pipe lines of their area for the smooth supply of drinking water. Deputation of village Neeli Nalah under the leadership of Isher Dass also disclosed that the supply of drinking water in their area is disrupted due to the deteriorated condition of pipe lines.
Deputations of Upper Thanoa Jakhani, Sundli, areas also highlighted their problems. MLA Pawan Gupta assured the public that he will given necessary instructions to the authorities concerned regarding settlement of their demands.
