UDHAMPUR, Aug 2: MLA Udhampur, Pawan Kumar Gupta today condemned Deputy CM, Dr Nirmal Singh’s statement calling Hizb commander Burhan Wani’s encounter as accidental.
“Government’s lack of foresight and determination is glaringly evident, almost leading to a rebellious siege of Kashmir valley. Deputy CM’s apathy to the nation and people of Jammu, who brought BJP to State’s center stage for the first time, is quite appalling”, Gupta said, adding the Deputy CM has proved it time and again from terming lathi charge in NIT students as mild one to current outrageous statement on Wani.
“This attitude where BJP has become lackey to PDP has only bolstered terrorist’s anti national agenda”, he alleged and added that this is besides the shock and tremor they have given to entire nation, specially J&K by allowing the anti national and overtly communal amendments in the Transfer of Property Act and J&K Land Alienation Act to be passed in Cabinet.
Pawan said that PDP-BJP Government in the State has allowed the allegations against the security forces handling a very difficult situation to go uncontested. “Why Government has chosen to remain silent while an orchestrated campaign has been unleashed against the security forces in the State”, he questioned.
He regretted that Deputy Chief Minister chose to lie to the people of this State and the nation that nothing untoward has happened to the minorities living in Kashmir when the fact is that hundreds of employees have fled Kashmir to save their life and honour while Amarnath pilgrims have not been spared and subjected to harassment, arson and assault.
“BJP-PDP Government has allowed the authority of the State to be eroded. Their attitude has belittled the command and respect of the entire security forces”, the MLA said and stressed the Government to restore the authority of the State and rule of law as a foremost priority and shun all this diffidence.
