RAMBAN, Aug 2: Condutor of a mini-bus was killed, while 17 passengers received injuries, when the mini-bus they were traveling in, skidded off the road and turned turtle near Hingui area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK19-2431 was on its way to Ramban from Banihal, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle on road near Hingui area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into on the spot death of the mini-bus conductor identified as Ajaib Singh, son of Tara Chand, a resident of Senabati and injuries to 17 passengers.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured persons were shifted to hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable, when reports last came in.
The injured have been identified as Vikram Singh (driver), son of Balwan Singh, a resident of Bas Paristhan, Abdul Ghani, son of Bobia of Batra, Manzoor Ahmed, son of Abdul Samad of Lajura, Ghulam Mohammad, son of Habib Ullah of Khari, Abdul Ghani, son of Ghulam Mohammd of Trigam Khari, Nazir Ahmad, son of Abdul Ghani of Daroo, Girdhari Lal, son of Parmader of Peera, Rafiq Ahmed, son of Ghulam Qadir of Gandri, Mohammad Irfan, son of Saif Din of Seeri, Chandan Sharma, son of Sham Lal of Batote, Shahina, son of Bashir Ahmed of Batote, Ratik Mahajan, son of Ashok Kumar of Ramsoo, Nawaz, son of Mohammad Iqbal of Ramsoo, Mohammad Rafiq, son of Abdullah, Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid of Dardai, Mohammd Amin, son of Mohammad Hanif of Kharwan, Mohammd Ashraf, son of Abdul Sultan of Wagan and Imran Ahmad, son of Mushtaq Ahmad of Ramsoo.
The body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case under FIR Number 57/16 under Section 279 and 337 and 304-A RPC has been registered and investigation started.
