UDHAMPUR, Apr 15: As All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association has gone on 3-day token strike, the Patwaris in Udhampur district today staged protest dharna at Tehsil complex on the second day.
They raised voice for fulfilling the demands which were accepted by Govt through a written agreement including- rationalization of Patwar Halqas and GQs circles, enhancement of Departmental Naib Tehsildars quota, finalization of seniority list of GQs , grant of technical grade pay .
The speakers strongly demanded the creation of separate Patwar Halqas and GQ circles along with designated offices as maximum offices are running on rent basis and Patwaris are being made to pay from their own pockets.
They stated that Patwaris are being assigned multiple Govt duties simultaneously, making it difficult to complete tasks with in stipulated time line. They urged the Government to provide sufficient time and resources to field revenue staff for effective discharge of duties.
