Patwari caught red handed while taking bribe

JAMMU, Dec 3: Anti Corruption Bureau, Jammu today caught red handed Patwari Halqa Lakhnote, Nagri Kathua, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000/- from the complainant, in order to conduct demarcation of his land.
The complainant had applied for demarcation of his land falling under khasra No 123 and 124, situated at Lakhnote Nagri, Kathua before the accused Patwari namely Nazakat, who kept delaying the job since October and at last demanded an amount of Rs 4000/- as bribe for conducting the demarcation.
Instead of paying bribe, the complainant lodged a complaint in this regard with the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu, which registered a case (FIR 39/2018) at Police Station VOJ for investigation. After completing all the required legal formalities, the team of ACB Jammu laid a successful trap and apprehended the Patwari, red handed, while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 4000/- from the complainant.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
The trap was laid by DySP Wahid Giri, who was assisted by Kamal Sangra, Gulzar Ah, Mohd Sadeeq and Rajnish Slathia, all Inspectors of Anti-Corruption Bureau Jammu.
