Patwar Association’s strike enters 2nd day

JAMMU, July 17: On the second day of the ongoing All J&K Patwar Association’s strike, Patwaries and Girdwars staged dharnas in front of their respective district headquarters and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
They criticized the wrong policies adopted by the State Government and alleged that the Government has failed to fulfill the written agreement made by it on March 5, 2012.
Raising slogans against the Government, they were demanding removal of pay anomaly with retrospective effect, stoppage of direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, relaxation in PSGA, enhancement of PSC Examination chances from four to eight, establishment of departmental enquiry cell, inclusion of staff working in computer centers into ETS quota, transparency in transfer policy and Patron training to all settled assistants and others.
In Tehsil Ramnagar, Majalta, Udhampur and Chenani of Udhampur District, Patwaries suspend their routine work and staged demonstrations at their Tehsil Headquarters.
District president, All J&K Patwar Association, Udhampur, YP Sharma, appealed all the Patwaries and Girdwars to stand united for carrying out this agitation to a fruitful conclusion.
Patwaries and Girdwars in Ramban District also remained on strike. Demonstrators assembled in DC office complex and placed the demands before DC, Shabir Ahmad Bhat.
